Why wouldn't the cop show up. Most of them are getting a minimum of 3 hours overtime to be there. If you do what the guy who told you to delay things by abusing the system the judge will figure that out by looking at the case file and hammer you if you are eventually found guilty by assessing court costs and possibly cost recovery fees for the police officers attendance.
If you are guilty of what you were cited for why fight it? Go to school and you don't get points.

Possible method to get out-of-a ticket in CA courts?
Object is to discourage officer from showing up at court. When ticket is being written recquest Central cournty courthouse as is your right and creating distance for the officer to travel.. At the hearing do not consent to a commissioner to hear a case, you want a judge thus delaying the case. It will be assigned to a judge and when you appear in fron of the judge you exercise your legal right under section 170.6 to eliminate any judge for any reason. This causes more delay. A new judge is assigned. If the officer shows up at this new and final judge you plead guilty or just walk away. You gave it a shot using the system

Is the ticket legit? If it is, and the cop shows, best if you just plead guilty and pay the piper.

Well, you could try telling the truth. If that means pleading guilty, it is better than perjuring yourself. They put perjurers in jail for a long time, you know.
