After all, it would probably be better to perpetuate the myth for the masses who believe.
Maybe they've already disproved his existence, and are keeping it a well-kept secret?

Oh wow. One of the MOST intelligent questions I've seen posted yet. Ok I'll give it a crack. but first a note to the others that answered this question. It says CONCLUSIVE evidence, which means irrefutable i.e. : Look at this this atom created the universe here are the FACTS Case Closed. OK?

If absolute conclusive proof was given that it was not 'god' (or any variation thereof) that created\engineered this pplanet\solar system\life itself, it would destroy most of mankinds basic belief system. As most of us know, from school day one we are taught that god created looks after us and the angels watch over us etc etc, also The United Kingdoms national anthem 'God Save Our Gracious Queen' The United States Of America's National Currency has 'In God We Trust' emblazoned on it's Dollar bills.
I don't know about other countries but I'm sure there are other examples. This creates a mindset for all people of these countries that God is good (therefore existence is deemed proven). Also the Religious Journals (i.e The Bible, Koran etc), teach your standard principlies, You shall not steal, kill, Have sex with you mates wife\husband\mother.
So then you discover the undeniable proof that god in fact IS NOT REAL. The morals would go out of the window, economy would collapse, EVERY man woman and child would suffer in one way or another. What I am trying to say is that it would undermine the very fabric of what our civilisation(s) are built on.
All that IF it was released for the public to view, which it would not be as the governments would have everything to lose, and the churches (corrupt or otherwise) would no longer be a beacon of hope & light in times when people need them most.
For the record I am not sure about god's existence but then when you're alone, who do you ask to find your keys?

I don't think that people could ever prove or disprove that a god didn't create the world/universe. Even if someone did find conclusive proof, there would be more questions of if that proof was created by a god. It's a zero-sum game.

But hypothetically speaking, I'm sure the conclusive proof would try to be hidden or snuffed out. There are too many people out there who count on religious followers for a hidden agenda, sadly, and it would not be in their best interests to allow the proof to spread. And even if there was proof, the devout religious followers would refuse to believe it.

I'm agnostic, a touch scientific and a touch spiritual. As much as I believe in the big bang and evolution, they are still theories and haven't been fully proved. Niether has the existance of a god.

God is undefined. There's nothing that we can call evidence for or against the existence of God. There is a lot of evidence that the concept of god, though vague, is man made.

So, to find conclusive evidence (science doesn't deal with proofs) that the world was or wasn't created by a god, you'd have to first say what a god is.

Currently, the only commonality in definition is some kind of powerful superbeing, but not merely an alien. Other than that, there really aren't any other characteristics. People have described their god as alternately loving or wrathful. Ok. So, a god presumably has emotions. However, that is just characteristics of its sentience. Their gods have also been described as omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent, and "perfect". None of those terms really mean anything. What is meant, for example, by "omniscience"? God knows everything? How do you test that? If you met someone described as omniscient, how would you verify that? Would that someone also know what his own actions will be? BTW, the omni-X descriptors also play havoc with the idea that we have freewill. The term "perfect" is wholly meaningless outside of very strict definitions with fairly primitive models by which to compare the perfection of something against. God has no such model of comparison. So, God is largely undefined. There is nothing really that could point to anything being created or not created by such a being, because we can't show such a being to be such a being if faced with one.

Such proof can never be found, because science by it's very nature cannot answer ANY questions about the supernatural. Since a god by default can do anything it wants whenever it wants, the entire concept makes the process of inductive reasoning incredibly difficult. "The structure of water is two hydrogens connected to an atom of water, except in instances where god wishes it to be otherwise." It resets your attempt back to "0."

All of our sciences can only describe things AFTER the point they were created. We know nothing about what was before the big bang for example, because space and time did not even exist.

It is also a mistake that is commonly made that science *conclusively* shows *anything.* Science works on induction, which means you build the STRONGEST argument for a phenomenon, then from there you infer to the *best explanation.* All theories and laws in science are strictly provisional--they are in place until something better explains the same phenomenon.

Two links for my references, two EXCELLENT resources for learning about the process of science.

If someone actually came up with conclusive proof that the world wasn't created by god, I think it would be nearly impossible to keep a secret.
btw- the formulation of the solor system is not even close to proof that the world wasn't created by god.
I can't really see how it would ever be possible to prove the world wasn't created by some higher power. No amount of scientific evidence regarding how we ended up here or how the planets were formed could prove that it wasn't done by "god."

It would never happen, just as it will never happen in proving he does not exist, science can't even prove it one way or the other, they come up with all the ways they say how it begun, but still can't prove it nothing to do with God

You only need to look at humanity. If god created it in his/hers/its image....well he's not too pretty or clever. But if you educate yourself a bit, all the proof you need is already out there.

I think we would; people who claim to have "proof" make it public all the time, including in here.

The problem is that there is no conclusive proof that the earth was not created by God. The evolutionists have been trying for years but have made no progress in producing facts.
