As far as I'm concerned (though I'm not male) as long as the lashes are dark enough, they're okay. I'm not too keen on blond lashes.
Anyhow, they really accentuate the eyes - they make you wanna do a double take. Long lashes double the chances of that happening. It's also a feminine feature for the most part.

It isn't pure length, so much as length plus curl and shape, but...
generally, they make a lady's eyes look bigger and more round than what they naturally are, without having to turn the woman into a cartoon of herself. Usually. I mean, too much makeup is too much, even with lashes, but yeah....if eyelashes are well-kept and long and curled, they do flatter the eyes.
Trouble is....I know that is a pain to do sometimes, and eyelashes can be a nuisance when they are too long and/or poorly formed.

Long eyelashes frame and draw attention to the eyes, and they eyes can communicate more then words...big, fluttering eyelashes catch the eye . It's your eyes the guys look at.

Can't say that I have ever looked for long eyelashes..... I guess it they were really long it could be distractive but it depends on the person's face...

I didnt know that they did...but its the same for girls...my oldest son has long eyelashes and girls always comment on them_
