Mount Vesuvius?
I'm 12
and doing a project in geography on Mount Vesuvius!

I need to know how Mount Vesuvius and Mount Etna are connected. And what have they got to do with Pompei?

Any extra info would be great!

Please don't give me any links cos i can't stand the sites. They don't speak English 2 me.

Thank you!

10 points goes to the person with the best info and the person who speaks ENGLISH!

This is not a pregnancy or parenting question.
But since you asked
Mount Vesuvius is one of the largest known volcanoes to ever erupt spreading tons of lava and ask all over Pompeii killing everyone in the city. When Pompeii was found many many years later the city was mostly intact because the ash acted like a glue keeping things intact.
I have never heard of Mount Etna

mount vesvuius is the only volcano on the European mainland to have erupted within the last hundred years, although it is not currently erupting. The only other two such volcanoes in Italy (Etna and Stromboli) are located on islands.

so i guess thats what they have in common
.

as for pompei it was buried underneath molton ash after vesuvius erupted on august 24 79ad and it was discovered in 1748.

i cant see why etna is connected to this place though as etna is on an island and not on the mainland.

hope this has helped a bit

They both ruined the city of pompei, with volcanoes and heavy ash people in the city had no chance,to excape the effects they are tree lined mountains"aka"volcanoes on both sides of the city, the city is at sea level.so in turn it acted like a canal for the volcanoes
