I need to know how Mount Vesuvius and Mount Etna are connected. And what have they got to do with Pompei?

Any extra info would be great!

When Mount Vesuvius erupted, those who could not escape were overcome by poisonous gases and were quickly covered in ash. Their bodies decayed, but by pouring liquid concrete into the resulting cavity, archaeologists have preserved the exact shapes of the bodies at the moment of death.
Pompeii, ancient city in Campania, southern Italy, built at the mouth of the River Sarnus (now Sarno), a few miles south of Mount Vesuvius, between Herculaneum and Stabiae.
Etna (ancient Aetna), volcano, southern Italy, on the eastern coast of Sicily. The base of Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe, covers an area of about 1,605 sq km (620 sq mi) and its height, which changes with time, was 3,323 m (10,902 ft) in the early 1990s.

Mt. Vesuvius is the volcano in Italy (well ancient Rome) that erupted and destroyed Pompeii and Herculaneum ( which were on the Mediterranean sea) so now you have the information.
