My husbands native language is Urdu. He says there is no word for that cuz women there don't hv suitors. He's at work n couldn't elaborate! lol!


Additional info: Word for "candidate" (to marry the person) would be "umeed war" or "desiree" (the one who desires that particular woman) would be: "khwahish mund"

I personally think hindi doesn't exist anymore. It has been greatly influenced by Urdu, and most of Indians today actually speak Urdu, and Urdu was influenced mainly by Arabic.
I haven't heard anyone talk Hindi. I believe hindi is suppose to use sanskrit but you don't hear that much.

Anyway, I don't know Urdu. But I found this site. May be it will help.
