I prefer online stores myself since it's easier to find specialty items the big chains don't have. Compare some of the products the suppliers at http://www.buddyandoscars.com/Computer_Electronics.htm to the chains you mention. It's also easier to locate a lot better quality items online, and after having my computer custom built using the Internet, I'll never waste time with an over the counter model again.
