you can make some homemade playdough, color on paper, play with blocks, make christmas chains, taking one off every day getting closer to christmas, just getting on the floor and letting them crawl on you, horsey rides, story telling.

My favorite site http://www.dltk-kids.com/ I am a nanny and it gets very cold where I live. I take care of a 5 1/2 year old, a 4 year old and a 2 1/2 year old. We do a lot of indoor stuff during the winter. We bake, make things soup bread, muffins, cakes. If the kids are wild and crazy I will move the couch, chairs, and what ever else out of the way and put the music on so we can all dance. We also love to build forts (put blankets over the kitchen table) then we all crawl under and read, color, play, HECK we even eat lunch under there. Another thing we do is we will move everything out of the way and take the cushions off the couch and I will spread them out so they can jump from 1 to the next. Trust me I know cold weather it gets down to 40 below here at times. Play games follow the leader, Simon says, head shoulders, knees, and toes. We have a get fit for kids DVD that i let the kids watch. its a free DVD you can get up to 5 copies. here's the link. http://gold.ahrq.gov/eorders/order_page4907.cfm

Coloring books work wonders. Making paper ornaments and other decorations tends to help with keeping kids busy. But, my absolute favorite thing to do with kids is making play dough (recipe below).
Kool-Aid Play-Doh
1 1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
1 pkg unsweetened Kool-aid (just the dry koolaid, don't mix it into juice)
1 cup boiling water
1 1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil
In a bowl, mix flour, salt and kool-aid.
Stir in water and oil.
Knead with hands for about 5 minutes.
Store in ziploc bag for up to 2 months.

my daughter is 3 1/2 and she LOVES to play song games. I bought some cd's with kids songs or you can download 'em and make up movements for each song. Easy ones like "head, shoulders, knees and toes..." and others. She gets exersise and we can do it inside...also she loves to help me cook/bake. Craft things are nice too..walmart has TONS of easy cheap craft ideas in the fabric department for girls and boys. I have put my daughter in ballet/tap your boys might be good in a toddler tumblers gymnastic thing if you have a place for that in your area...they have those mommy n me classes that aren't too expensive i don't think

teach them some Christmas carols, make some cookies with them,(let them cut the shapes), put them down for a nap, do some finger paintings, let them paint a window with Christmas motifs. bathe them, read to them, let them run wild for a bit, and watch some TV. along with feedings that could be enough for a day.

Why not make paper ornaments to decorate the Christmas tree. All little kids love to color and they will be so proud to see their stuff up there. Good luck. It will be hard.
