Both soft and hard shells are equally good eating. The soft taco shell tends to be less messy because it doesn't break when it eat it as the crunchy one does at times. Another advantage of the soft taco shell is that it can get cold and be reheated and still taste relatively the same. The hard taco shell either gets damp when reheated or kind of stale tasting. One thing about a soft taco though is that when you eat it..it's almost like eating an open burrito whereas the hard shell is definitely what makes a taco distinct. So I say, have one of each and enjoy...both are equal in the eating.

crunchy for sure! Taco Bell's double decker tacos are good though. That's the only time I like the soft shell included. I love tacos but if I can't have crunchy, I pass on them. IMHO, soft tacos were created as a low-cost substitute for fajitas. Subsequently, they give traditional tacos a bad rap :)

Both are good, but I find crunchy ones are messier to eat for some reason.
