I am sorry, but I am quite irritated with people thinking that they know what hip hop is. I don't know if this is your understanding, but Hip Hop has four elements... this is Breakdancing, Graffiti (and not that chicken scratch tag crap), DJing, and MCing. These are the elements of Hip Hop... the found-sounds from the records (or the jazz, funk, soul artists recorded in the studios or the bars and introduced to the streets by talents Mix-Geniuses)... the Prophetic lyrical jive of the Poets, the artwork and biblical technograms, and the ritual dance of the improvisers. The sacred art of Hip Hop is not exclusive to race, gender, or creed. It is a way to communicate between multi-cultural entites... even with extraterrestrial ones. If you want to hear some talented artists exploiting their form... Check out Saul Williams, DJ Spooky, DJ Shadow, Kool Keith, Afrika Bambaataa, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Dilated Peoples, Dead Prez, Jurassic 5... these artists will lead to other artists... and ideas will froth in your mind like a cappachino ready to serve HOT!
