IF at first you don't succeed, try something else...it will be easier, and probably more successful.

I'd like to share a personal parable.

Most of my life, people in general have sneered, taunted, looked down, bullied me for no reason. Even my family members do that at times... and I made myself a promise not to ever forgive my family for looking down on me. I just realised that I have to forgive my father and mother no matter what. My father is grumpy most of the time because he is very old and is partially blind and my mother has health problems and still dealing with tons of home responsibilities. They've had a very difficult life as far as finances are concerned, and they gave their all to raise me and my ungrateful siblings. The moral here is not to judge your parents so easily because they have suffered so much for us to even be in this world. Try to forgive them whenever you can.

On a personal note, I am so worried about them and I wish God would look after them and bestow his full blessings upon them and make them happy and healthy until the end of their lives. I don't have the finances to look after them and we are having so much problems here with the neighbor and my siblings are not doing anything and I feel so sad. I can't face losing either of them because they are the only true people who are close to my heart.

These are a few ways we can practice humility

To speak as little as possible of oneself
To mind one's own business
Not to want to manage other people's affairs
To avoid curiosity
To accept contradiction and correction cheerfully
To pass over the mistakes of others
To accept insults and injuries
To accept being slighted, forgotten, and disliked
Not to seek to be specially loved and admired
To be kind and gentle even under provocation
Never to stand on one's dignity
To yield in discussion even though one is right
To choose always the hardest
