I am trying to eliminate the need for a variable capacitor. What capacitor would be needed for 1550 KHz?

The capacitor size needed is based on the inductance of the coil. It can be calculated by using the formula F = 1 / 2 * pi * sqrt(L*C) and manipulating it to yield C= 1 / (4 * pi^2 * F^2 *L). On the other hand, why not use a 365pF variable capacitor just like everybody else does?

That depends on the coil your using to resonate with it. Keep a couple of easy tips in mind. Most coils are adjustable, so the capacitor doesn't have to be exact. The VariCaps tune typically from 365-10 pf. That corresponds to a frequency range of 530-1700Khz. A little math and 1550Khz works out to about 56 pf. Try that for starters. Hope that helps

I chose to bottle feed becuase I had to take several medications that made my breast milk unsafe for my baby. I used enfamil with my baby, who is now 7 months old. The entire pregnancy, I struggled with the decision of breast vs. bottle. I even considered a breast milk donor, but felt uncomfortable putting something from a stranger's body inside my daughter's mouth. I am happy with my decision because it kept me healthy and allowed me to care for my daughter. (The first year of motherhood is hard enough.) I struggled through the pregnancy without medication for the good of my baby, and was at a point where in order to function, I needed it again. I know that some people may think that I should have suffered for a little while longer in order to breast feed, (and I do admit breast feeding whenever possible is the best) but I didn't want to miss out on all the "firsts" because of sickness. I also didn't want my sickness to adversely affect my daughter's personality or her bond to her primary care giver (me). I don't feel ridiculed by other moms who did breastfeed as long as I explain the situation. Otherwise, I do get strange looks and odd comments. I just can't let it get to me. I understand why they feel they did the "better" thing, but like most things in life, this issue is not black and white. I did what I believed to be the right thing for my family, and I think that's what being a mother is all about.

That totaly depends on the circuit. A simple circuit analysis will yield the answer. Event that, you will need to tune the circuit, since there is no such thing as ideal component.
Anyway, here is the formula for the resonat frequency an RLC circuit: F=1/(2*pi*sqrt(LC)).
