People see human beings no matter where are they from. You see Americans and you prioritize their status above anyone else.

Why do you think places like Africa and India have so many problems................ Because the Europeans who stole the land we call America (amongst other countries) transferred the wealth and assets of these continents to the new Europeanised nations, while smashing the rest of the world to pieces and robbing it blind.
Suppose all the Black American descendants of the people kidnapped from Africa and abused as slaves where given true compensation and repatriation rights, along with payments for those murdered (the true cost of the slave trade was 400 million lives) suppose America was given back to it's rightful owners (Native Americans), along with all the assets (Gold & Oil to mention a couple) that were stolen and used to build this country.
And what about Mexico, sorry Texas.... We would be bankrupt.
Of course these thihgs will never happen, but if you stop and think at how a country could raise itself from one where from Columbus first landing on mainland USA in 1498 and now a mere 500 years later we have the greatest and richest European country in the world. (which is strange because during the days of slavery blacks outnumbered whites 7 - 1. So shouldent this be a Black country?) you might realise that we do owe the rest of the planet big time.
But to answer your question directly, we are giving back a little of what we have (and still are) taking.
What I want to know is why we have spent BILLIONS bombing Iraq to get rid of a guy we hired to run the place, instead of spending that money here.

We have many opportunities in the US to help ourselves: jobs, education, medical care, reliable transportation, potable water, working utilites, libraries.... We have many safety nets for people who have a more difficult time in our land of opportunity. We have food stamps, unemployment compensation for people who are temporarily out of work, medicaid for free healthcare for our poor, mental health programs, low or free tuition, food stamps and many other social welfare programs.

Have you ever traveled to a 3rd world country where there are little or no opportunities? Where there are no social programs to help a family when they can't feed their children or afford to go to a doctor for medical help because their baby might die from an easily preventable/treatable illness like dehydration from diarrhea? Where children beg to go to school because they realize the value of education but know their parents often can't afford to send them.

I encourage you to travel to Africa, India or some place just 90 minutes from the U.S., Haiti, where you will get a better appreciation of the needs of their people. Hopefully, you would also appreciate how much opportunity we really do have in the U.S. where we often take what we have for granted.

I agree we as a country need to start at home when deciding to help people. Please realize, however , that the US sends billions of dollars to many countries...not just Africa and India.

I agree. It's kinda like in my city, we have plenty of homeless people who will remain homeless where as the goverment gives the katrina evacuees in my city apartments, and free services. I think we should take care of our own first. India and Africa are third world places and as long as the people there live like they do, breeding uncontrollably, they will never get themselves together, no matter how much aid they get.

Try to read about Globalization and Christianity and you"ll
understand. The USA takes from the poors much more than it gives in exchange.

As soon as people start realizing the same thing you have, and then go tell people who give money to other countries.
