What exactly does this mean.

It means the first is the proud, he will be the last.
The last is the humble because he will serve others without murmering and therefor he will be the first to get Honour at the secondcoming of Christ

And the first shall be last and the last shall be first.

I think this means that things aren't necessarily going to be the way we think they are, or will not be in Heaven as they appear to be now in this physical existence.

Last. This means I can't be kicked out of my "first" seat when someone more exalted than me comes along. I can only be moved up in the line. WooOOo Boy.

On a serious note, I probably am last. And it sucks.

last hired is usually first to be laid off. has a lot to do with seniority in the workforce
