Has anyone ever called the Depression hotline? I'm really thinking about calling them they say it's confidential. I just get depressed really easily, and I don't know why, I just I guess I just need someone to talk too.

it couldn't hurt to call the hotline. do you not have anyone you can trust in your life that you can talk to whether it is over the phone or face to face. i do recommend that you talk to someone you trust and watch who you talk to online as there are people who would try to take advantage of your situation. good luck sweetie

I've called the suicide hotline before, but not depression hotline. If you feel you really need to call then call. I'd recommend seeing a shrink or joining some depression groups (to meet people who have similar problems to help you deal with this problem your having).

If you need someone to talk to feel free to IM me.

In my town, we have a Crisis Line, but the people are all very rude and insensitive, plus they have caller ID, and call the police if they think you're a danger, even if your just a little bummed, then you get to spend 3 days in what's called "the naked rubber room" then get dropped off at the ER in handcuffs for a psych evaluation and probable institutionalization, that had to be the stupist call I've ever made

Talking is out is the best. Stay away from the anti-depressants, they will only make you feel worse. Same goes for drugs and booze, they will only complicate the situation. Depression is a tough one to get a handle on, just keep in mind, you are the number one person in your life and always above all else, take care of you.
You can beat it!!!

Hi! Don't talk to me ~ I've got enough problems!
But to answer your question, yes, call the hotline. They are presumably professionals, unlike the volunteers above.
Good luck!
