My 1 year old beagle rescue(female) is not housebroken. She has had two accidents so far. I take her out frequently but literally 5 minutes after our ten minute stroll, she peed on the living room floor. I caught her midact and took her out and she didn't do anything(obviously). Anyway, she hates the crate and cries if I put her in it when she's not next to the other dog who is also crated. Should I just keep up with praising her everytime she goes out and hope it improves. Any other tips?

Take her out for a very long time, make sure she does her business and praise her a lot. Maybe even carry some treats that she can have after she's done what you want her to.
Housebreaking takes time, so be patient. Two accident aren't bad, depends on how long you've had her, though.
If she's crying when alone in a crate, move it next to the crate of the other dog. My dogs are in the crates when I'm at work and I have them facing each other. It seems to work.

First, thank you for the rescue of the beagle. patience is what it takes and a lot of it. Might try leaving it out longer. Sometime a dog gets so excited, it will pee. Do not leave out food all the time, put it down only when you feed and pick it back up. After it has eat, wait about 20 minutes, then take it outside and leave for about a hour. This worked for me. Good luck and bless you for taking in the dog.

Continue praising her when she does go outside, positive reinforcement is always the best, but sometimes it requires a little more. I would put her in a crate that is relatively small, not to be cruel, but this is often a method to train dogs not to go to the bathroom in the house because if they go in the crate then they have to stand in it :(.
Hope this information helps, good luck.

My beagle goes out alot to pee also. She can be in 5 or 10 minutes and has to go out again. I found that with Abbey we put her out at least every hour, or if she's sleeping as soon as she wakes up out she goes same with eating and drinking, usually we put her back out about 20 mins after she's had food or water. Repetition and praise will go along way.

With her being a year old she may not need to go out as much as you think so taking her out often might confuse her.Try key times like in mornings when you get up, after she eats. try every 4 hours and after she wakes up from naps or just lying around.Continue to praise when she goes out side. Also try taking her to same spots she pottied before outside.

the method that worked best with all of my rescue dogs(16 total) is the umbilical chord method. i kept them on a leash with me in the house all the time and redirected them outside if they acted at all like they needed to go, they all caught on fairly quickly

you would be able to desire to initiate in simple terms like he's a toddler and compliment compliment whilst he is going outdoors. in case you have an twist of fate do no longer scold her in simple terms sparkling it up, i take advantage of white vinegar. in case you scold him he will conceal to pass. pass out often shop song of whilst he does pass and get a ordinary. same time feed same time potty. she gets it as quickly as she knows what you opt for. A crate is ultimate once you would be unable to be abode too. good luck and thank-you for saving an undesirable puppy.

Beagles are outside dogs. They hunt and mark every where they go.
