They are generally good little dogs, but you need to be concerned about the pushed in faces.... that can lead to breathing problems and because of it, they don't tolerate high levels of exercise or heat and humidity. They are smart, so you do need to really watch them and make sure they are learning GOOD things, not bad! They should be fine for apartment living, and yes... all dogs need veterinary care (as pups, vaccinations at 8, 12, and 16 weeks, then at 1 year and as your vet recommends after that) and dont' forget heartworm prevention.

Minimal grooming needs, they do shed a fair bit, so frequent brushing with a soft bristle brush will help. Feeding - make sure they don't get fat! Pugs have an overwhelming tendency to get overweight, and because of the pushed in face, you can't do strenuous exercise with them to get the weight off, so don't let them put it on to begin with. NO PEOPLE FOOD!!!!

Good luck, I love them when they are little - I call them Puglets=)

Are the barkers... sometimes my pug will hear noises and think someone is there but in reality theres nobody there so yeah mine I can say barks but wouldn't be considered a constant barker
easily house trained.... not my little guy he is 7 months old and we still haven't been able to wean him off the paper.
good for small apartments....they would be ok if they are taken out and walked alittle each day the only thing is I wouldn't sugjest getting one unless you have an other pet. They are really needy dogs they need constant love and affection and they don't like tobe left alone. I happen to be lucky and I am able to bring my pug to work with me everyday if i was unable to he would be so lonely. I don't have any other pets. I work at my mothers and she has other dogs so when I bring him there he is a whole different dog he get so excited. so yes they do need constant attention.
Medical concerns
Epilepsy is a big concern for pugs my first pug had epilepsy at an early age and was going to be on madication the rest of her life.
Grooming is not a problem they don't get bathed very often the only grooming would be brushing their teeth, cleaning ears and clipping the nails
Food... My pug is a really picky eater. We feed him Nutro Max but he loves table scraps most of all
I do have to say they are easy to fall in love with and they easily become one of your children

I'm no dog expert but I do know a little about pugs. They shed a surprising amount for a short-haired dog. They tend to have breathing problems because of the shape of their snouts. On the plus side, they are smart and funny. Most write-ups on pugs refer to them as "clowns." The size would be good for apartment dwellers, though they are pretty high energy. At least you won't have to spend a great deal on grooming, as with other breeds, and the small size means you can bathe them in a good-sized sink or in the tub. Have fun with your new pup.

ignore the spelling, i think of that all of us knows your question. You have been precise to get somebody to stay at your place to guard your canines. i think of that at this point you will possibly desire to objective to get your canines to drink loads of water and you will possibly desire to telephone the vet. in the present day of night they're very keen to grant unfastened advise, because of fact they are not prepared to determine canines. nonetheless, if a vet thinks that the cigarettes and beer will supply your canines a topic, they are going to see him. There are minor issues that the answerer's can supply advise on, besides the shown fact that if a canines has chewed tobacco and below the effect of alcohol beer, you will possibly desire to telephone a vet. Vets can't value for advise which they provide on the telephone and that they are accessible now and via the night.

They are great little dogs, the only big pitfall is that they shed like crazy no matter what food you give them.
