I worked at a restaurant where we made homemade croutons everyone LOVED. Cut white sliced bread or french bread into cubes. Put in your largest bowl. Drizzle with melted butter, not enough to soak the cubes. Add garlic powder, salt, pepper, parmesian cheese and a package of powdered ranch salad dressing. Toss well so that all cubes have some buter on them. Spread on a cookie sheet and toast at 350 for about 15 minutes. It is really important to stir every 5 minutes. I just pull the cookie sheet out, pour back in bowl, toss, pour back on cookie sheet. Thats the fastest and least messy way. Good Luck!

Cube up pieces of bread. Melt some butter and then add various spices - Mrs. Dash will do, along with some grated parmesan cheese. Mix spices with butter, then add bread pieces. You do not want to soak the bread, but just make them lightly coated. Spread bread pieces out on tray and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Leave out uncovered overnight. Should be nice and crouton-like by the morning.

Take several slices of white or wheat bread or what ever you have avlb. Cut into crouton size pieces. Add spices such as garlic, parsley, Italian season and mix with bread.Melt 1/2 cup butter or margarine and add to mixture. add 1/2 c Parmesan cheese and place in single layer on cookie sheet. Bake for 20min in 350 degree oven stirring every 5 min or so to even the browning. They might be done sooner or later. Just keep checking. Allow them to cool completely before bagging them. I freeze mine and they last longer. White bread seems to work the best. Brown breads tend to get chewy

Make very lightly toasted toast, cut up into squares, sprinkle with butter and garlic (or whatever flavourings you want) place on a baking sheet and bake in the oven until super crunchy. You'll usually only need to do it for about 15 or 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
