Cover the tick in vaseline or baby oil. They breathe thru thie 'rear-end', this will cause them to back out to get air. I'm very serious.

Use latex exam gloves to examine your pet for ticks. Examine using good lighting.
Check your pet daily for ticks by thoroughly feeling for any lumps under the hair. Pay close attention to ears, around face, eyes, legs, and belly.
Ticks will range in size from the size of a sesame seed to the size of a fingernail (engorged).
When is tick is found embedded in the skin, use a fine pointed tweezers at the point of attachment, and grasp firmly. Remember to wear latex gloves when doing this.
Using slow, steady, and firm traction, pull the tick straight out from the skin.
Cleanse the skin with mild soap and water.
If part of the tick breaks off, you can try to remove it as you would a splinter, but it is probably best to leave it alone. The body will 'eject' it in time.
Keep an eye on the animal for signs of chill or fever. Take it to the vet should symptoms develop.

The tick will fall off when it has had enough blood from your pet but it might get you when it's Hungary again.Better to try an kill it with the proper stuff , what ever you do DO NOT PULL THE TICK OUT WITH TWEEZERS if you leave the head in the skin your pet will suffer, don't take chances.

you can get a tick remover but you need to remove the whole thing & not just the body or the head remains in the cats skin & regrows a new body. Gross!!!!!!!!
Probobly easiest to buy a tick remover from the vets but otherwise you can grip the tick right at the skin give a quick twist & pull & it should come away properly. Thats if your cat will let you!!!!!!!

I work in a grooming parlour and see alot of ticks. if you don't know what your doing with it then you'd better go to the vets cos if you pull it out wrong it hurt your cat and it'll get a nasty infection! If you do feel like you can do it go to a decent pet store and ask them about a sort of tweezers you can get. But make sure when you've pulled it out it still has its head on the body else you'll have to go to the vets anyway! And be careful cos humans can get ticks so make sure you crush it afterwards!!

squirt it with frontline then in a couple of days get a tick remover from the pet shop and remove it. Don't try to pull it off as it'll leave the head stuck in the skin and create a big abcess.

you have two optionsthe 1st being that yo need to smear the tick and surrounding area with COOKING OIL and the tick should either drop off or u may have to help it along..the other option is to get tweezers and get as close to the skin and yank the tick off making sure you have the head coz if you miss that the tick head will embed itself into the skin

Soak a rag in rubbing alcohol. Hold you cat still and then press the cloth over the entire tick until it comes out. Process took about five minutes with my friend's dog the last time we did this.

The same way you would with a person. Get some tweezers and carefully, steadily pull it out so that the head doesn't get stuck.
Be sure to pet your cat while you do it so he won't squirm.
If you have the kind of cat who just WILL NOT stand still, then you may want to have the vet do it. It's always important to get these ticks out quickly and safely.
