I am 17 and 5"4, i am kind of short and way only 113 pounds. For someone at a height of 5'10 i would have to definitely say that 120 pounds is too skinny.

I'm 23, male, and 5'11". I've been struggling to gain weight for the past six years. I've been right around 120lbs since I was 16 or 17 and haven't been able to gain. I would say that you are too skinny. If either of us were to get severely ill, we would lose weight, weight which we don't really have to lose. I have finally found a viable solution, which is to count my calories and exercise.

To gain weight, you need to eat more calories than you burn in a day. For example, in a typical day I burn almost 2700 calories. Thus, I need to consume a minimum of 2700 calories to gain any weight. It's not easy to do this when you're naturally thin and have a fast metabolism. It will take diligence and effort on your part, if you want to gain more weight.

It is thin, yes, but look at your parents, and ask them if they were very thin in their teens. Looking at your parents is generally a fairly good indication of what you'll look like in later life, also. That goes for women, too. I was thin but shapely when I met my late Husband, and he liked thin women. When I started putting on weight later in life and he expressed his dissatisfaction, I told him point blank that he should have looked at my mother back then and taken a hint!

My Husband was extremely thin and hyper as a child, with a heart rate of 150, that was never treated. Although he was well muscled, at 17 he was a bit smaller than you. At 18, however, he put on a spurt of growth and shot up to 6'2" and about 160. Still thin, but a beautifully lean muscled body. In his 30's he went up to 250, and was absolutely intimidating looking. You may have the genes that make you so thin, or like him, you may just not have grown yet.

Talk to your parents, start drinking protein shakes, consuming extra healthy calories, and don't worry! If it's not in your genes and you haven't gained some weight in 6 months, ask your parents to take you to the doctor for a complete physical. Good luck!

Yea honey, you're a little too thin. You should gain about 10 pounds if you're a girl, more if you're a boy. It's good to be slim, but in a healthy, fit way. Gain a little wight and work out while you do it and you will look and feel great!

YES. You really need to gain weight. Or you might die. Not to scare you or anything, but yeah. If you have an eating disorder, go see a doctor and they'll help you. if you're just naturally that way...go see a doctor 'cause there might be something wrong with you. D:

so far, 7 out of 8 who have answered before me have answered correctly and jen even gave you good source information concerning your weight. don't sweat it, though. you are just a tad underweight and that is nothing to get in a twist over. many people have offered sage advice; follow it. me, i'd give you a blunt then turn you loose in a krispy kreme store.

No as long as you eat right and exercise. Some people are just naturally skinnier/lighter than others or have higher metabolisms.
