Dinosaurs were not armed with nuclear weapons, although what got them in the end had a very similar effect.

Hello,

NOP!! definately NOT, why? because at the rate humans are destroying the planet's natural resources and if the signs of climate change turn out to be correct. I'd be suprised if humans as a species are still here in 1,000 years.

**Dont foreget the estimated age of the entire universe is only 200 billion years, earth only came into exsistence about 20 billion years ago and humans have only exsisted for an estimated 60-70 thousand years.

Your question contains a fundamental flawed assumption.
We have been on the planet for longer than dinosaurs.

They were created at approximately the same time. Dinosaurs became extinct (probably) within the last few Hundred years.

There is much evidence that humans have coexisted with dinosaurs (aka dragons - the word dinosaur was only invented in 19th century).

Dinosaur bones containing blood have even been found - hardly 65 million years old!

Well, humans are a single species. Dinosaurs were many different kinds of species. I'm pretty sure that the species Tyrannosaurus Rex, for example, did not last hundreds of millions of years. Any species lasting that long is unlikely. Humans as a species are no different. We have the ability to influence our environment to a much greater degree, and that should make us more responsible. Unfortunately, we spend resources on the wants of today's generation, and we ignore the negative consequences for future generations. As long as this trend continues, it is unlikely we will last as long as any species of dinosaur.

Not a chance. We are too destructive for one thing. We have already made significant changes to our environment in the short period we have been here. All of which is nothing compared to the fact that we will overpopulate ourselves into extinction. I know that if you are asking about mankind surviving for any length of time it seems like more people would mean better odds of a long stay. But there are examples of civilizations that overpopulated themselves to death.

We are too good at what we do. Self preservation is a very strong trait with us and we are very clever and resourceful. That means, when what is left gets to be very scarce, we will kill each other for every scrap of it. And we are not very patient either. When we are down to some seeds that we could plant and grow and harvest or eat them now because we are hungry, guess where the seeds go.

Apparently, our solar system only has 11 million years of life left before the sun dies and takes out Earth along with it. So the answer to your question is No, not on planet Earth. Another planet maybe, but not this one.

If humans continue to ignore the environment problems such as deforestation, pollution of the air and ocean, drive species toward extinction, then we would not be here for long. (certainly not hundred of millions of years).

To paraphrase Bones from Star Trek "It's life Jim but not as we know it", maybe humans can but I doubt if they will be recognisable to us, evolution or war will change that and don't get me started on global warming!
