The choice is ours. If we decide to continue doing what we are doing: Fighting, Polluting, Exploiting etc, the world will end for us within the next hundred years. If we decide to change, which I believe will be the case, we have another five billion years until the sun begins to die, and a lot more if we begin to populate habitable planets throughout the universe, which is more than probable.

The apostle Paul tells us that “in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here,” and adds:

“Men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God.”

Matthew chapters 24& 25 shows Jesus describing what things would be like on the earth for people during the last days, earthquakes pestilences, earthquakes .

Convincing proof that we are now in the “last days” is to be found in the work that the Lord Jesus Christ has directed on this earth since the fateful year 1914. It is in fulfillment of that part of his great prophecy recorded at Matthew 24:14:

“And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.”

This work is being done by jehovahs witnesses on a worldwide scale today. Very soon this world will be made new psalm the wicked cut off proverbs 2:22 the meek shall inheirt the earth. Dead be resurrected

This is a real hope, a present hope, for all the evidence adds up to show that these really are the “last days” of the present world system. It is urgent that we recognize them as such.

The bible tells us that an afternoon with the the Lord, equals one thousand years. it somewhat is been over 2,000 yrs now, so i could say we are going into that third day. "yet do no longer forget approximately this one fact, liked, that with the Lord sooner or later is as one thousand years, and one thousand years as sooner or later. The Lord isn't sluggish approximately his promise as some count style slowness, yet is forbearing in direction of you, no longer wishing that any could perish, yet that each and every you could actually attain repentance. however the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will bypass away with a noisy noise, and the climate would be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it somewhat is going to likely be burned up."

I am not familiar with the Jewish tradition you speak of, nor the spring you describe. I do know that every generation has believed that they are living in the "End Times."

My best advice is to lead a good life, pray and be happy. Don't let the 'doom-sayers' take away your peace of mind. When it happens, it happens and there is nothing any of us can do about.

People...listen...the answer is easily found in God's word. Jesus told them "But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be"

Look at how things were during Noah's days, look at how rampant sin was about the world and how the people lived and then look at today's world, and see the similarities and there you will find the answer, and the answer is yes, we are living in the last days, bow down before him, repent and confess your sins and he will provide forgiveness and then the "when" will not be a question because you will already be prepared.

We've been "near the end times" for as long as the Rapture freaks have been around. With every war, catastrophe, and calamity that rolls around, these people come out of the shadows toting their bibles and quoting their vague and apocalyptic passages, connotating them to whatever event fits them best.

They thought the world was going to end in 2000.
Ball fell in Times Square on December 31, 1999.
Everyone got drunk.
...but nothing apocalyptic happened.

...no one really takes them seriously anymore.

This stuff used to worry me when I was younger. I asked my mother and she said people have been predicting the end of the world ever since it began. Since then I've lived through a great deal of 'oh my god it's the end times tommorrow' type panics and I'm still here.

I do believe in spiritual end times, however. I believe big spiritual shifts happen. It does not have to be physical.

However the world is going to end sooner than we want if we keep treating the Earth in this way.

Christians have been predicting the end of the world for 2,000 years and haven't gotten it right one time obviously. Why believe them this time?

Afterall, they're mostly trying to sell you books and DVD's about it. It the END TIMES are really here, why are they trying to make money? It's not as though they can take it with them.

http://www.islamtomorrow.com/definition.asp
Muslims believe in a Day of Judgment, a certain day when Allah (God) will gather all beings together to stand before Him in account.
This day will be the beginning of a life that will never end. It's the day when all people will be rewarded by God according to their beliefs and deeds. Those who die as believers, (believing that “There is no true god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah”) and are Muslim will be rewarded on that day and will be admitted to Paradise forever, as Allah says:

"And those who believe and do good deeds, they are dwellers of Paradise, they dwell therein forever."
(Qur'an, 2:82)
Whereas those who die while not believing that “There is no true god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah” or are not Muslim will lose Paradise forever and will be sent to Hellfire, as God says:

"And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted from him and he will be one of the losers in the Hereafter."
(Qur'an, 3:85)

Allah also says:

"Those who have disbelieved and died in disbelief, the earth full of gold would not be accepted from any of them if it were offered as a ransom. They will have a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers."
(Qur'an, 3:91)
Did you then think that We had created you in jest (without any purpose), and that you would not be returned to Us (in the Hereafter)? So, God is exalted, the True King. None has the right to be worshipped but Him... "
(Qur'an, 23:115-116)

People have been finding evidence for it being the end of times for 2000 years. even in the bible they thought it was the end of times. So I think the answer is "no." However that's a very interesting thing.
