I am a UK Muslim and I am in no way offended by Christian festivals. I like when all the decorations go up and the Christmas sales! Although I do not celebrate Christmas I like how it is a religious day that is still celebrated by so many people in the UK. If someone says Happy Christmas to me I do not mind. In a free multicultural society we should all be able to celebrate our own religious festivals. Thanks for asking the opinion of UK Muslims and not relying on the media for you information. I always felt this was a "divide and conquer" kind of tactic used by someone with an agenda of their own. Whether it be a paper looking for sales or a political (yes political) movement (extreme left or right). Most religions know their boundaries pretty well.

There has never been a report of any British Muslim being offended by Christian festivals. And to a degree would it matter? Freedom of expression includes the right to offend (as long as it doesn't stir up racial hatred). I happen to believe Islam is a tolerant faith and I give its followers a lot more credit than some of the British tabloids.

Hundreds of years ago causing religious offence was called blasphemy and you could be imprisoned and killed for it. I think that considerable progress has been made that instead of imprisonment we get letters to the Daily Mail and Express!

Banning religion is also an interesting topic. Once the genie is out of the bottle there is no putting her back. If you completely outlawed religion, it would go underground...or slightly perversely another religion would replaced it, but under a different guise. A cult of personality would fit the bill pretty well in that case.

Religion is not something that can be forced, you have to believe and have faith all by yourself.

No Muslims are not offended by Christmas. I think people are just too p.c these days, trying not offend a single person. Which can be quite annoying for example they had a beach day in our town centre and we have a large indian/ pakistani community and the council decides to play a bollywood movie. I mean what beach do you know that plays a bollywood movie? People would have come to the event anyway. This just annoyed the white majority and I can understand why.

Muslims are not offended by it, and they say so. They actually protested in favor for Christmas. It is the politically correct people who are doing the friction and the Muslims get blamed for it, because people assume it is done for them, which actually it is not.
I think PC liberal are doing it to get on the good side of the radical Muslims, which is not helping, it is actually causing more trouble than anything.

No their not offended i know this because i got about 20 nice polite answers from Muslims saying they like Christmas .and 2 nasty spiteful answers from guess who ? (not Muslims)
and i don`t think it`s anything to do with religion .it`s to stir up hatred and it wouldn`t even shock me if our bloody government had their grubby mitts in it stirring things up .so people are too distracted to notice what they`re up to and to get all the stupid gullible types to think TB and Labour are doing what the country wants ( first it`s the veil thing and now surprise surprise TB and cronies are jumping on the bandwagon) Don`t tell me its not yet another one of snidey Blairs little plots.

I do not believe that UK Moslems are offended by Christian festivals, for many years we have all lived together without problems, most Moslems respect others, but they are responable for cleaning up their own house. Muslim offence to christmas is an invention of the loony left of the ken livingstone ilk.
muslims wouldnt have even thought of it ,until these bored overpaid council officials, didnt try to justify their jobs by blowing our council tax on crackpot schemes.
however, any restriction on the rights of british or american public is welcomed by the immigrant muslim population.
