Im going to sing in my school and camp talent show.
Knowone never heard me sing but me.The reason why I dont sing is because my voice sounds raspy when i sing.I can sing its just its like a rasp in it. No matter how many times i clear my voice its rasp. And i drink alot of water. How do you fix a raspy voice?
Is there somthing i could drink to help it.

Dude I wish I could sing don't worry about the rasp, just look at Janis Joplin rasp was her signature, and besides if I could sing I rather have rasp then no rasp at all, it makes you sing chords so to speak...

If your voice is naturally raspy there is nothing you can do it about short of surgery. The mere fact you stated it only happens when you sing, seems to suggest a few things

1. You are singing improperly (could be a proper breathing issue
2. You are singing material out of your range (does you voice hurt at all, do you strain?)
3. You have not had plenty of rest
4. You are not taking in a enough fluids

side note..many singers like Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Tyler, and Patty Smyth have raspy voices and make it work...

good luck!

Can you sing on the note?? If no one has heard you you may 'fall flat on your face' at the Show and that would be a huge drag.

I like the other people's advice to get a listener who can sing - a friend in the schol choir even, to tell you if you can sing in tune. Rasp?? Never mind that = it's fine.

You cant really change it, its how your voice is. But if you really want to get rid of it, you should sing in front of somebody before you show, such as your choir director, and see if you can get advice from them. And plus if you have never had anybody listen to you sing but you then you are going to be dead with stage fright at the talent show. If you dont want to go to your choir teacher, or if your school doesnt have one, then go to anybody you know that sings well. They may be able to give you pretty good advice. Good luck! Talent shows are so much fun! :-D

Well i agree with most ask a choir director but whatr we do for musicals and we've lost our voices or they are ''raspy'' try honey. swallow some honey. that might not be all that great but it works for us. try it ok? cool. good luck! i mean Break a Leg!
