Well, this is truly a hard question to answer because I do not see the question being asked.

Is the voltage AC or DC?

Is the voltage producing a small amount of current, or lots and lots of amperes?

Do you suggest an answer involving short period regulation such as with auto-transformers suitable for one or maybe two cycles of regulation, or do you wish a fixed/variable regulator which holds the regulation setting constantly?

Please re-enter your question with more details if you wish to get a useable answer for your question.

A generator/alternator produces voltage proportional to the RPMs. For all practical applications, this voltage must be regulated for a specific application.
