Some methods that work for one person will not for another.
My method is to hold my breath and drink a full 8 oz. glass of water. The swallowing relaxes the diaphragm and stops the hiccups. Good luck and I hope something works.

Having hiccups for that long could be a symptom of something more serious. Do you mean that you have had them off and on for the last 10 years? If you have them all the time you need to see a doctor. If you just get them occasionally, eat a spoonful of sugar and let it dissolve in your mouth before you swallow it.

I've heard of medical conditions like this. I'm not sure whether there's a surgical procedure but I hope you'll ask your doctor about it.
When I get a bout of the hiccups, I lay flat on the floor, close my eyes, and wait for the next hiccup. I stop breathing and wait for the next one to come about, then I start to regulate my breathing in time with the cycle. It takes a bit of practice but it works for me.
Good luck, hon!

Hiccups are the involuntary reaction of the diaphragm muscles which helps you to breath. I have heard everything from holding your breath and pushing down with your stomach as hard as you could for as long as you could to pressing your fingers above your eyebrows for 1 to 2 minutes over the nerve that runs down your face. Have you gone to the doctor about this?
