He's NAUGHTY because you did a lousy job of training him! There are no "naughty" dogs, just stupid or lazy owners. If you did your job right, the poor dog wouldn't be punished by being given away.

Promise your parents to spend more time training the dog to be good and DON'T LET THEM GIVE HIM AWAY! Because it's not his fault you're a lousy owner.

First of all, ALL dogs take a lot of work to train. You don't say what type of problems your current dog is having but it is most likely either due to no training or inadequate training. Maybe just taking him to an obedience class could help this out and you could keep the dog you have? I adopted an adult dog last year who was a car chaser and had bitten a little girl on the butt. We went to obedience classes and he can now run around my farm (only when I'm outside with him) and doesn't care one bit if a truck or car goes by. The training we did together bonded him to me and he listens very well.

Secondly, if you didn't properly train this dog and so are giving it away... what makes you think the next dog will be any different? There are NO bad dogs, just undertrained dogs. I'm not saying your dog is a bad dog, just that obedience classes teach YOU how to teach your dog, and it sounds like that is what is needed in this instance. You need to know how to properly train a dog, so this kind of situation won't happen over and over and over...

Thirdly... if your current dog is not neutered, that may help a whole bunch too! Many male dogs are hormonally aggressive (naughty?) and taking away their source of hormones is a good thing in those cases.

Good luck - seriously... talk your parents into taking you and the dog to training... you won't regret it!

If your parents aren't willing to put some effort into training your current dog, don't consider getting a puppy. It will take literally months of hard training before it stops being "notty." Please don't ruin another dog's life just because you want a pet. It's unfair and stupid. If you get a puppy you will have to get rid of it it a few months, and by then the dog may have so many behaviour problems and it won't be a cute puppy so it probably won't find a new home.

I wouldn't get a puppy because they cry all the time, and you need to give them lots of attention. If you have time to do that, and stay up all night with them then get a puppy. The best place to go for a puppy or dog would be at the Humane Society because that would save the dogs life.

What is notty? And why would you get rid of a dog just to get another one that you will probably get rid of also? It is because of people like you that there are so many homeless dogs and so many dogs at the Humane Societies.

Oh, you mean naughty. Ever heard of spell check chick?

If your parents are giving away a dog becasue of behavior problems there should not be another dog brought into the home until the parents learn that dogs are a reflection of the owners. If they are naughty it is beacuse someone (the owner) has not given them the proper training to teach themn to be a good dog.
Your family does not need a new puppy.

How about training the dog you have now, instead of foisting him off on someone else and getting a new puppy who will probably end up being "notty" too (since that's usually the result of a bad owner, not a bad dog).

If you parents want to give a dog away because they are naughty then your family shouldn't get another dog. I have seen to many dogs in dog pounds because of dogs being naughty or gotten to big for the house hold. I think the problem here is the family not the dog.

There is nothing wrong with your dog that a little training will help. It seems you are lacking in that field so go to a training school to help you train it. Or let your parents find it a new home and then you can get a gold fish

You cant exchange dogs. Obviously you didn't take the time to train the first one to keep it out of trouble. What makes you think you will do better with another? Wait until you are old enough and learned what responsibility is. Why hurt more dogs?
