what would you do to help mankind and rid the world of the diseases that have taken millions of lives?

Actually I am imagining becoming a billionaire and was thinking what i would do with the money so I would give at least 10,000,000 of it to charity. then a large portion of it would go to some diseases and the cure of them not sure which I will look into this, now that you have mentioned it.
I would have to change my house to a larger house a newer car and give some to my family at least 10,000 each if not more. Then I would look at other causes of good and give them some of it.
I would like to write a book and give proceeds to charity but most of all I would be looking at ways in which I could helps others even more perhaps have seminars to help others step up and over their personal barriers.
I am involved in the community and would contribute even more to work done in the community so that would take care of a lot of it and then I would probaly have some left over to live on.

If I were a billionaire, I'd probably donate money to charity organisations dedicated to helping those suffering from diseases and not actually spend anything in attempt to "rid the world of diseases". To actually find a possible cure of any kind, we have to use real human embryos to do tests, and what can do as a billionaire to help? To sponsor them and financially equipting them to buy more real embryos which they would eventually kill? Thats opinion against humanity...

Like the one poster I would give to wildlife funds and to saving the rainforests - like the nature conservancy which actually buys land to keep it pristine through private ownership - as in the long run destroying the earth is going to be as bad if not worse than diseases which already have a lot of research in to.

I would definitely give a couple mill, for poverty (including medical care) and the environment. I would also give a lot to this foundation that works to get money to charities across the board.

I would be giving money to every legitimate research foundation trying to rid us of diseases and ailments.

I wouldn't know where to start. I'd probably set up a charity and ensure that the money actually went to places where it was needed.

I wouldn't limit it to just "mankind" - I would likely go with animal causes, because they need help as well.
