You'd think if god were able to heal it all on his own with his unlimited power you might want to forego the hospital and save some money, time, and not have to put yourself through all of those painful treatments.

they pray that treatment works... Jesus had to lay hands on people so I guess they figure god is working through the doctors and machines?

If there would have been no diseases such as cancer or aids do you think that anyone of us would have given a taught about praying to God. God heals those and listen to those prayers in which he has been remembered even during the happy times, he loves his human beings to be humble and modest and have respect for the other human beings, then when you pray in your hardships He listens and there are many examples.

Who is to say the God does not work through the hand/s of the medical practitioner/s.

However ones belief system must be unfailing and unwavering when treating anomalies through faith.

It is true that the power that created the body can also heal the body.

As Jesus never supplicated, but thanked in advance knowing that all prayer is answered.

Now that is kicking ones faith up a notch, from believing to knowing.

You do not have to say you believe in the chair you sit on, you know that the chair exists.

Same for God. Are you go for it enough to take the leap of faith?

You have a point. But sometimes it depends on where the persons (who has cancer) faith is. God works through doctors also. And it is prophesied that we are going to have breakthroughs in the medical field because of God.

God sometimes heals people of cancer with His Word & anointing after someone is diagnosed with cancer and the person doesn't go through with the treatments because they are clearly healed.

Sometimes they go through the treatments because they don't see themselves completely healed, even if they were prayed over.

I have heard personally examples of all these. Many people get touched by God and the lump dissapears who had been previously diagnosed with cancer. I know of people in my church who had this happen to them.

I also know of one woman whose doctors told her that there was nothing they could do for her and to go home to die. She didn't receive the doctors bad news. She starting speaking the Word of God (promises) regarding her healing continually. Slowly she got better & stronger. She is still alive today completely healed. She is Joel Olsteens mom. http://www.joelolsteen.com .

It is written God sent His Word and healed us of all our diseases.

Dear Choose Reality-

You choose a painful and heart wrenching subject in an attempt to mock God. Shame on you.

"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap." Galatians 6:7

Get real man. Take a good look inside.

Because this is still the system of things which is under the effects of sin...we get sick and die, hospitals are where we go. In the new system of things which will be under the Kindgom of God there will be no sickness or death. In this system, we have to rely on what care we can get from the medical professionals becasue we do respect life...
1John 5:19: " We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one."

The apostle Paul prayed three times for God to heal him, but this was his answer...
2 Corinthians 12: 7-9a: "just because of the excess of the revelations.
Therefore, that I might not feel overly exalted, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, an angel of Satan, to keep slapping me, that I might not be overly exalted. 8 In this behalf I three times entreated the Lord that it might depart from me; 9 and yet he really said to me: “My undeserved kindness is sufficient for you; for [my] power is being made perfect in weakness.”

So we may pray for healing, but God may give us the strength to endure, because that better serves his purpose for now. In other words God may answer our prayers in a way that is not obvious to us.

I think that as long as we are under Satan's system of things that God will not intervene in that manner and although we may pray for healing, God will not act in a way that will benefit us against his will and help Satan's system look better, but he will give us the strength to endure, and in the new system of things everything will be reconciled, and under that rule there will be no sickness, death, crime, war, poverty...so until that time arrives, we need to do what is necessary to protect the life that God has given us, and hospitals answer that criteria.

Because people pray that God will give the doctors insight and wisdom to prescribe effective treatments and that God himself will empower the healing process.

Sure, God can heal people with a miracle but He often does his work here on earth through people. It's like someone asking why didn't Jesus hang around after being raised from the dead instead of leaving it to the disciples whom He had trained to spread the gospel message. God does things His way not ours, that's why.

If God supernaturally healed every Christian then people would flock to the churches seeking healing and their faith would be in miracles and their focus on this life instead of on Jesus and the eternal life that He offers to all who through faith believe on Him.

Because God gives us wisdom to know when to use human sources. Sometimes God will do the "Parting of the Red Sea" miracles, and other times, he uses man to do the healing.

Now, you may be laughing, but consider this from the odds of these scenarios happening.

When my husband was age 8, he was healed of leukemia AFTER being diagnosed and AFTER being prayed for in church. The next week they went to the doctor and said he no longer had Leukemia. What is amazing is that this was back in the days when childhood leukemia was 100% fatal because there was no cure.

Coincidence or God?

Later on, he developed a brain tumor and needed surgery. The doctor refused to even refer him for an MRI to see what was causing the blinding headaches and kept blowing him off. He started to do some investigations on the internet and found a website with over 40,000 entries relating to his medical condition. How do you figure out that he spent over 2 days poring over the entries on that website and almost to the minute we were praying for him in church, he came across the entry from a former patient that stated a doctor he could see in our own state. Even more, this person on this website lived in the next county north of us? My husband finds the entry out of 42,000 at the moment we are praying for him?

Coincidence or God?

What about the fact that this doctor who was the pioneer of this surgery (the one he was led to) does this surgery several times a month and almost everyone ends up with facial paralysis. In my husband's case, his tumor was very large and would have killed him? When you are in the hospital, your family hangs out in the waiting room and gets acquainted with other families who have patients in the hospital with the same medical conditions. How do you explain that my husband was the only one of those 4 NOT to have facial paralysis (UPDATE: all performed by the same surgeon)? In fact, my husband at that point was the ONLY person on record with that large of a tumor NOT to have facial paralysis?

Coincidence, or God?

My point, is that sometimes God will heal miraculously, other times, he does use human hands to help us through things.

Do you think that your gifts and talents are given to you for selfish or personal gain. No, they are given to you as a gift to you to use to help others. And as such, God gives us those gifts and talents with the expectation that we will help others.

So, in answer to your question. Yes, God does use human hands to carry out his work.

Mind over matter... doesn't necessarily work.. that's all that praying for healing is.. a true belief in something and the body many or may not react to this powerful Christian belief that "Jesus/God" will heal them.

Because God has given knowledge to doctors, surgeons, etc.
Many have years added to their lives by the skill of physicians.

It is only natural that we pray asking for healing. Healing by the skill of physicians; healing directly by God.

And whether we are healed in this life or not, God has promised that He will be WITH US.

If God miraculously fed us, clothed us, healed us -- wouldn't that be great? As 2000 years ago, they wanted to make Him King; just because of what He wold do for them; but not because of Who He is.

Likewise, now, probably they would accept everything He would do for them and yet still would want "to do it my way" as to how they choose to live, etc. And most of humanity seems to claim they can make the world an utopia without God's help (and, even, without God). I think probably this is one of the reasons that God does not openly intervene in most things .... just waiting until humanity will be at the point of totally destroying creation/

First of all - GOD never gave you cancer - Second, You must BELIEVE - If you have no faith, nothing happens - And third, Has it ever occurred to you that some people are HEARD and some NOT ? - It's like listening to the radio, my friend - You can't hear music on one station if you are TUNED IN to another one - Same thing with the LORD -Tune in to HIM -
