Keep a night light on. Don't see scary movies and you should watch the making of these movies to convince yourself that there all fake.

Oh, hun, Texas Chainsaw Massacre happened sooo long ago. Thomas Hewitt is long-dead. Jason Voorhees is just some wuss in a hockey mask. I very much doubt there's cannibal in your town. And all you have to do for Freddy Kruger is not believe in him. Remember, he feeds off your fear. As long as you don't fear him, he can't get you. Good luck =)

The best way to get rid of any fear is to look it straight into its eyes! What corner do you think the fear comes from? Go there! And say to it: "Here I am! Come here! Do what you want! Eh? Why aren't you coming? You are scared of me! ......etc..) You'll see, the fear will diminish with each such word you will say! You can shout at it or you can speak to it quietly, as it does itself.

Any fear, especially the fear you are pretending to have, are all created by your mind! You are scaring yourself. How fun is that? Stop it, if you don't like it. You can get rid of it, because you created it.

You know, there is also a great book(s) on this topic written by Brian Weiss (Psychotherapist), who had a patient. She was afraid of water, dark, terrified of death and many more, which made her life a real misery, so DR Weiss hypnotizing method on her. Many of her fears disappeared in two months!

It's called Many lives, many maters.

Try it, maybe you will wish to get same kind of treatment as she did. I am wanting to be hypnotized!

:)

I actually understand your feelings, because I have some of my own that are similar. I sleep w/a nightlight (and have for years).

Unless you live in a dangerous neighborhood and there are legitimate reasons for you to feel afraid, then you are letting an overactive imagination rule. Try telling yourself that. Repeat a mantra to yourself, "There is no reason for me to be afraid,..."

Not sure how old you are, or your particular living situation (teen living at home, college student, single person, or just what), but just be sure that all your doors and windows are locked--obviously a smart thing for anyone in any situation to do--and then try to relax.

Don't watch horror/scary movies. I can't watch them because they stick w/me forever, too.

If your anxiety continues, you may want to discuss it w/a professional.

Ok first off go to a psychiatrist and therapist about your anxiety/paranoia. Keep your doors and windows locked when you are inside. Stop watching shows/movies that scare you.

There is medication for that problem, I would definitely seek a therapist, that is not a way to live.
