The carpal bones in the wrist are sometimes considered to be "plane" joints because they slide over each other in a plane but collectively they produce a lot of movement. The joints in the thumb are considered to be hinge joints. One thing that you will find is that all anatomists never agree on everything. I suggest that you consult an anatomy book at the library then at least you will have a reference to back you up.

Carpal tunnel is actuall a ligament that swell and hits the nerves on the oing area that's why you get the pain they have these ultrasound machines now that strech the ligament and stop the pain so I'd look up Carpal Tunnel in the Mayo Clinic website and find out what the newest treatments are, this one I'd heard about a few years ago and there is no surgury involved so you'll be up and typing really fast, I heard it takes a few treatments but really works. Goodk luck
