Germany was 51% Lutheran, 45% Roman Catholic. I am sure most of them went to church every Sunday. However, they liked Adolf too. Millions showed up at his rallies. The fought for him, and worked as guards in the concentration camps. Many clergyman wrote articles supporting Hitler, that exist to this day. The industrialists that backed him, were also Christians.

Hitler went into churches took down crosses and put up swatiskas. If you stood up to him, you suffer.

True "christians" did not back him. Here's an excellent example

Detrick Bonhoeffer. He stood up to Hitler and was hanged. He was a preacher and a lot of real christians suffered greatly in that time.
