I would like to have a handfasting ceremony. I want it to be a personal ceremony. My partner is Christian and we will get married in a church when the time is right, but now I (I follow Druidry) would love a personal, private handfast, and he is keen on the idea too.

Any useful links so I can plan everything? I'm having trouble...

I'd rather not have my relationship judged thanks ;] he's not an American happy-clappy fundie, he's a very lukewarm Catholic, and I am also Catholic, but mainly follow Druidry. We get on just fine thankyou! I would like a Catholic wedding just as much as him, but I would also love a handfasting to mark our commitment to each other in a different spiritual way.

Do a search for pagan clergy in your area. I think www.witchvox.com once had a list of clergy in different areas of the US for rituals such as hand fasting.

There's a really good book that I used when my husband and I got married. It's called "Handfasting & Wedding Rituals: Welcoming Hera's Blessing" by Raven Kaldera and Tannin Schwarzstein. It was extremely helpful. Also, whoever you choose to do your handfasting should be able to help you out with any questions.

Just so you know, my husband is a Christian and I'm a Wiccan. We have absolutely no problems in our marriage because of that. Don't listen to people that tell you your marriage is doomed to fail. That's not true. It's just their intolerance and hatred showing through.

I would check to see what Pagan clergy is in your area, the best resource might be to go to the COG (Covenant of the Goddess) website.

Any pagan priest or priestess can do a handfasting.

If you have a local pagan shop you might ask if there for contacts. There are a lot of pagans that have been ordained mainly to do handfastings. They might be able to help you with your planning too.

Youll be having trouble in your marriage if you marry a christian, ive heard many christian/ non christian marriages fail and many christian/christian marriages too because christians are unfit to marry, remeber just because you think it will last doesnt mean it will.
