Congratulations. I had the same situation with my boyfriend. We've known each other for 6 years, loved each other but just started dating about 5 and a half months ago.
If I had read your question before, I would have told you it's never too late. But obviously you didn't need the advice because you still went for it. Best of luck with the relationship.

I think in this kind a forum, you are more likely to get a more realistic, albeit harsh answer. 9 times out of 10 the situation you described would not have turned into mutual love. From what I have read, people here tell it like it is rather then being wishy-washy and giving answers that may potentially give false hope..... glad to hear they were all so wrong :)

because I wasn't one of those who answered your previous question :)
Could have told you that if both parties are shy / afraid of ruining the friendship, the onus is on the male species to chase :) Some guys expect or hope the female would chase them, but this is never going to happen if the female is of the type that upholds the ideal that usually men should make the first move.
If you hadn't made the move and she is not the type of female who chases the guy, you would have to accept your lot.
So... good for you, at least, that you finally plucked up the courage! :)
Some guys never do.

Hey, I never seen that question but I would have told you to express your feelings for her. It's never too late! Also, it's always best to take chances then to just move on right away.
It's a good thing you didn't listen to those women that answered your question. Good Luck!

Their answers were not necessarily wrong, they may have been basing their answers on their own experiences. Just be happy that your scenario worked out for the best. Hopefully you will have a great relationship.

In most cases, the women would have been correct. Every detail you gave pointed to that conclusion. Just be happy that your case was an exception.

i think if you are willing to put out your question, it's up to you whether you accept the answers to have any credence at all..obviously you didn't' like what they said and did what you wanted to do regardless..do you want them all to apologize or do you just like rubbing their noses in it?
