Dieing is just a part of life. Everybody does it. A little sooner, a little later whats the difference?
It would perhaps be preferable to give your life for something you believe in, rather than some of the other ways it could happen.

Well in life when you have nothing to loose anything you try could be a great success, you have to look back to the time of Abraham, there living conditions were bad they owned slaves traded daughters for things of value like a cow. So this crazed man told people what ever to justifying the death of his family, by saying God made me do it, so it was more of desperation than it was faith, would you give all that you have to live on the streets so you could come to church one day and say god made me do it

I have the faith of Abraham, I have the faith to marry several wives, and to get concubines to serve me; the only problem is, it's illegal now.
My religion is infringed, because I believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jakob, and I want wives; not to mention slaves.
Abraham had slaves, and God blessed him.
I really resent the laws as they are now, cause I believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and all you atheists can go to -- oh never mind.

Is this the same Abraham who twice passed his wife off as his sister so that others could take her as a concumbine and make him safe a wealthy? Of course when God found out about this, he punished the other men, so it was a good bet for Abraham.
Or perhaps it is the Abraham who, when he thought his wife was barren took another woman so he could have a child.
Is this the Abraham you are talking about?

I hope that I do. But I also realize that Abraham had a lifetime of not having enough faith. He gave his "sister" wife to the king so he wouldn't be killed. He stayed in famine without asking God to deliver him. That he needed to grow in the Lord, and have the faith that you speak of.
So I wait and grow, and someday will have the faith, that Abraham finally had.

i would like to think my faith is that strong. i think God holds us up and strengthens us for the hard times. people tell me i must have great faith to go to africa... but when it is something you are called to by God... you are not being brave ...it just feels wrong to do something else.
I think I could give my life up for God if he wanted... but i think to be like Abraham and be willing to give up the life of your child, the one you had waited for in your old age, the one who was to fulfill God's promise to make you into a nation more numerous than the stars... Abraham had a faith that few others have had.

IF YOU BELIEVE IN THE BLESSED HOPE, THEN IT WOULD BE A PIECE OF CAKE TO DIE FOR HIS SAKE! But I'm not going to stand in front of a semi-trailer, in the middle of a freeway, loaded with seventy tons of I beams to prove a point! And besides, I still have a lot more Bible teaching to do!

Im a small cog in this massive clock, I don´t think I´d be in that situation.
If it came to the crunch I´d die for Jesus, but I wouldn´t let anyone else my family for example suffer because of my decision.

Abraham Lincoln did so much! Sure. I would die before going back to slavery.
