for me juz relax n listen to music is much more better, sometimes watch tv will get u upset coz of the news or the sad ending story. so as read books. Sleep will make u more tired n lazy the next day. The best way to relax is juz do something that u enjoy most, like play with yr cats or dog or juz look at yr garden. Listen to nice music and keep saying to yrself how happy are u enjoy life. Thats more meaningfull then juz watch news that makes u upset or listen to radio sometimes give u good song sometimes the joke is kinda crazy too.

Absolutely! Relaxing and thinking about nothing (nothing important anyway) is something most of us need at least once in a while for good mental health.
What you do to relax is up to you. Try the various things you listed as well as meditation, or a craft or hobby you may have (or take up) that doesn't require a lot of thinking (an example would be knitting...once you learn the stitches then you can do it almost on auto pilot).
See what you find works best to clear your head and help you relax and ground yourself...I think you'll find that doing something 'mindless' or mind-clearing will make a difference in how you approach your life, your day, and how you feel overall.

Oh, yes. It is so good for you to be able to sit and think about nothing. Actually that is a very high form of Buddhist meditation.
This is a technique (stilling the mind) that is part of a group of helpful techniques for relaxation and to develop mental flexibility, spontanity and creativity.
Most important is body awareness for relaxing. If you can notice the parts of your body that are tight, you can work to relax them. Now I say work, because it takes focus, attention and permission to let something go, tension or whatever. Often feelings that we cling to cause tension in our bodies, so we have to give up these feelings of say fear, expectation, desire, etc., in order to let go. It is a little harder than you might think, since it involves our whole personality and body.
It is a good idea to seek a good teacher to help develop these skills to become better at self management. However, if you pay attention to your breathing and try to just flow with things, that will be a good beginning.
Good Luck

Relaxing is always good, as long as you do accomplish what you need to do. But it's recommended that a person spends a little time (an hour or so) relaxing and doing things that they enjoy. Of the things you mentioned, it doesn't matter what you do really, it's up to you and what you enjoy. Personally, I enjoy reading, so when I'm relaxing I often read.

Relaxation is whatever makes you feel comfortable and allows you to put aside other worries - hobby, tv, sports, etc. Relaxation isn't just turning the mind off, because that is difficult. Do something you enjoy. An active mind is usually a healthy mind and body. Set aside some time periodically to enjoy something else.

When I am stress...the only way I can relax is...by watching television or watching a movie on DVD.
I don't know if it will help you being more successfull...but it will help you coping with tomorrow.
Successfull people don't stress and don't watch television. They work 12 - 18 hours a day and devote their life to work. They are a special breed...and I sometimes wish I could do that.

Meditation, Yoga,. Simply sit on your favorite cushion in a quiet room and do nothing except listen to New Age music (or some other relaxing type of music. Breathe slowly, think of nothing except nice positive stuff. Relax.

Whenever you want to relax, do what you enjoy the most. Be it reading a good book, listening to your kind of music, whatever you enjoy the most. what works for one person may not work for everyone. So this is something only you can work out.

Sometimes just sit in a comfy chair and stair out the window. Another way to relax is to flip through some old photos you havnt looked at in a while. It brings back good memories of the past, and will relax you. Trust me.
