First, you need to have 3 litter boxes for every 2 cats. Second, use a name brand litter. Third, use clumping litter. Fourth, clean the litter boxes at least once a day. When the litter runs low in a box, don't add more-- throw it out, scrub the box (I use disposable toilet bowl brushes) and rinse it with dilute bleach (a few tablespoons per box, add water, swish it around, and rinse). When the box is dry, add new litter. I use the buckets the litter comes in to put used litter in, because they seal tightly. Once in a while, you need to replace old litter boxes, too. And lastly, be sure your cats aren't peeing outside the litter box. Good Luck!!

Scoop daily, and change the litter often. Actually, baking soda eliminates the smell! Just sprinkle some on top, it works for me and I have 4 cats!

1. Frebreeze
2. Animal Odor sprays
3. There are these pads you put in the top part of the litter box that eliminate odors. You can buy them anywhere-probably Meijer.

I use Fresh Step scoopable litter with carbon. I've tried all the rest, none compares to this one for odor control. I also scoop at least twice a day, usually 3 times.

Just be aware that what you put IN the cat affects what comes out. If you use a low quality food that is 2/3 corn you will have voluminous and odiferous leavings in the box.

I have found if I clean my box daily and use scoopable litter, there is very little cat litter box odor.

Do NOT use bleach to clean the litter box! Bleach + Ammonia from cat pee = toxic fumes that you cannot breathe! Trust me, Don't try it! I learned the hard way.

You can use scoop-able litter. Alot of them have those odor eliminating crystals in them. Also clean it daily or every other day. You could also get one of those automatic air fresheners that dispense every 20mins or so, you could probably find them at Wal-Mart. Good Luck!
