There's a little book you might like. It's called 'Lateral Thinking' by Edward de Bono. He's written loads of books, but that one has some cracking lateral puzzles (and answers).

A guy was pushing a car passed a hotel he stopped, paid the man who owned the hotel some money and continued pushing the car.
He was playing Monopoly.

Two pieces of coal and a carrot found in a field how did they get there?
A melted snowman.

My personal favourite and it took one group a week to work out is-
A bell rings, a man dies, a bell rings!
The man is a blind swimmer who put a alarm clock on the beach so that when it went off he knew which way to swim, A ship went past and a bell on it went off, the man just swam straight out to sea.. Devious eh!!!
