I actually get a dog related email and the 7-year to our 1-year doesn't really apply anymore. It's actually 7-years to our 1-year for the first 1 or 2 years of the dogs life, I can't remember which. After that, it's 4-years to our every 1-year. Then you go by dog
Small dogs - About 15 years
Medium Dogs - About 12/13 years
Big Dogs - About 10-12 years.

Partly depends on the size of the dog. The first year is about 15 years ( a year old dog can have puppies, but 7 yr old kids can't...). The second year is about 7 years, then it slows down to 5 per year. As the dog gets older (over 5 or 6), it picks back up again to 7 and then 10. The bigger the dog, the faster he ages-- it's not unusual to see a 15 yr old poodle, but it is unusual to see a big dog live past 12. DogAge.com is an interesting site that helps you determine your dog's actual age in dog years based on his health and lifestyle. Good Luck!!

Year one - 15 years
year two - add another 10 years
every year after that add 3 years.
a dog who is four years old would be in ours
15 + 10 +3 + 3 = 31 years old

It's 7; you just multiply its actual age by 7.
