Its hard to know but well, I guess you got to see whether he
does the things he does for his own benefit only and try to follow your instincts somewhat. Pretty error prone but well, here are some ideas.

If he says he loves you and then immediately expects something, then be careful. How does he treat you. Is he nice to other people or only to you? If he's a jerk to other people but really nice to you, be very careful, ...

Sometimes, you can just sense that a person cares about you. Hard to say though, often communication, especially the non-verbal kind is often greatly misread between the sexes.

Generally, though, you can't just go by what he says, go by how he says it, when he says it, and his overall "sincerity" factor. Sometimes trust your gut.

1) When you fight how does it work out?
2) Is he a control freak over you. If he has an inate need to control you then, he probably does not love you. Control freaks rarely fall in love, they just have possitions. Their jealously can be mistaken for love.
3) When you are feeling down and he knows, what does he do?
4) Does he make you feel like you matter? Do you feel respected?
5) Does he remember anything you talk about?
6) Does he introduce you to his friends.

But if u are in a deep need of knowing, try to understand his daily routine. fiend out what he do when he is not with U. check his cell phone/ e-mail, if he is lying u can get some hint. when u handle boys always be mindful . dont love or hate anyone too much . we are living in a dog eat dog world. one thing i must say to u - only certain thing in this world is uncertainty.

well you just have to take his word, when you need him is he there for you ?does he take you out ,and every time you see him you don't jump into bed and them he gone? do he give you flower or a gift out of the blue. when your sick does he come over and hold your hand and tell you I love you if there anything I can do for you.
