could you see your way to a large anonymous contribution to another where after it was all said and done you would not be recognised in any way whatsoever EVER ? Actually, even someone else might get ALL the credit for what you created?

Oh no question!!
Especially if you know someone else is going to benefit from it. Ego should not be the motivation for everything. Doing something from the heart feels soooooo much better.
However, there are sacrifices that can hurt. But if you KNOW someone else will ultimately benefit.... you just have to do it. Giving up a love..... because you know someone else needs this person... his love... his soul. Hardest thing I've ever done.... but something you know you have to do when you care about someone more than you care about yourself.

I have a good friend that I live close to and her son is very sick. I have tried to do a lot for them to have a house addition put on for them...and when it gets done...I want them to know nothing about me having any part of it. I want it done for them for the right reasons and not for glory.

yes ,i do it all the time my love is a gift i ask for nothing in return...i am an artist and i give my paintings away to friends all the time and i am happy with my decisions...and the answer is ...yes ,if it makes you happy.....

i donate food to the food bank every year. i get no credit for that. i should mention it is valuable, because i can't afford to do it, but i do it anyway.
