You're probably nervous because you don't know what to expect and it's hard to meet new people.
Just be yourself and loosen up and try to enjoy and all will be well.

It could be any of a number of reasons: -
- you don't know what to expect,
- you had unpleasant experiences with other churches before and this makes you more nervous
- you are afraid of meeting new people
- you are not sure of yourself
- you are not sure how the people at the new church will view you (especially if you also feel nervous at other social settings or generally in front of crowds or strangers)
- you are not sure what God will think of you
- etc.

Relax . Ask God what He would like you to be (well, He is not a forbidding god who wants to watch you trip over, contrary to what some people think, but He really cares for you and He desires that you enjoy yourself and enjoy the blessings that He has in store for you ;)

unless you left the old church out of unresolved issues of bitterness and need to forgive or seek forgiveness or something in time to come - this is a different though related issue.....)

Do try to focus on God :) and then focus on other people.. then lastly on self. Many times many people go to church for different reasons, and some go with mixed motives or mixed reasons such as wanting to know God better but also other reasons ... .. It's natural and

don't stop going just because you have mixed reasons or because you feel inadequate to be in the church... But just learn to focus more on God first , then focus on other people second :) ....... When we are more conscious of God and conscious of other people (perhaps there is someone else in the church who needs help & would be glad for your help / who is as nervous as you / who is shy and new or lonely / someone who is going through some tough times? or just someone who is glad for friendship?) , we will be less self-conscious.

Hope this helps. Hey, all of us are imperfect!

=)

You feel nervous because of the people there who you don´t know.

The church has nothing to do with God, these cold buildings which have carved images (see 2nd commandement), Priests wearing special robes reciting from a book they don´t understand (Scribes and the Pharisees) and vast wealth (camel and eye of needle ring a bell) cannot to any thinking person be the houses of God.

Go into the forest, to the beach, watch the sunrise, God created all this and many more, when I see these things I feel closer to God.

If you do things on impulse that your not really ready for or you need some church help either way that would make myself nervous to. It 's not a big deal there's more to worry in life than church.

Instead of being nervous, you should feel good about yourself. Ask yourself, 'Why is it that I chose a new church?' The answer will make you feel better.

I am so very happy that you attend church. Do not be nervous, you are going to God's house among his people. You will not be alone because GOD will be with you. Bless You!!

i would be nervous to, and i grew up and go to church. i get nervous anytime i go somewhere new... espically if i go by myself. but this can be good. it is good to take those risks and they can be rewarding. you dont know what you may miss out on when you stay at home. enjoy the service.

if you are going by your self and never been there before it could be because you don't know anyone this is natural or maybe you had to much coffee which is also natural when consumed in large amount either way you will be just fine God bless you and have a wonderful day.

Possibly because you may not know anyone there.
It is perfectly normal......don't you think?

More importat is the understanding of what they are teaching and making sure that it harmonizes with the Bible.

Maybe if you focus on that you won't be as nervous...instead you will be on a mission!!!

You should not feel nervous, you'll worship in it the same God.
