Trying to buy a house after the 1st of the year. Have disputed everything on credit reports. Trying to boost my score. Need some positive things to add to my report w/out having my credit pulled. Merchandising or credit card companies such as Crown Jewelers do not look at credit to extend a limit. They will however report positive to credit bureaus. If anyone has any recomendations please post........Thanks!

New credit won't do you much good. In fact, it could hurt your score, initially. You will need to pay on any credit for a few months for it to do you much good. A bank once told me that it took about 6 months to do much good.

Utility companies generally don't report to the credit bureaus. But if the account has been turned over to collections, the collection agency will report the item. Do you still live where this company supplies your electric? If so, I would think resolving this account would be second only to your mortgage company. Have you tried contacting local agencies for assistance with the power bill? There are usually funds available for situations like yours. In any case, they are not going to wait a year to start a payment plan.

jewelers and furniture stores will give you all the credit you want. No one will give you a loan without checking your credit.
