because it is the truth...

2006-12-10 03:15:31 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 8 8

If that's true, in my view it's because of the following reasons:
* Especially in Western Europe Muslims kind of created a parallel culture. This "shields' them from the dominant culture so that consequently they stay within the Islam.
* In cases where they come into contact with the dominant culture, for various reasons they feel they are not wanted, which again leads to an inward search for their roots. There they feel secure.
* In the West they are allowed to build mosques and schools, so they can stay in contact with their roots.
* In most of Moslim (dominated) countries other religions either are not permitted or are boycotted in some way. The Muslim population don't really get a chance to experience other ways of thinking. The fact that unfortunately lot of people in the poorer countries are illiterate also contributes to this.
* What I read and hear is that people get punished in some way or another when wanting to leave the Islam faith. So, it's made difficult to leave.
* Children of interfaith marriages are supposed to become Muslims.
* I'm not sure, but like in the more conservative Christian denominations contraceptives are not permitted or are dissaproved of. So families are more numerous.
* Naturally, to be fair, there are also people who are attracted to this religion and consequently convert to it. Especially the fact that it lays out how to arrange someone's life in a hectic, modern (secular) Western world can be appealing to some people.

If the figures reflect this you have to consider the following factors:

1. In many parts of the world people that convert from Islam to any other religion are likely to be killed, arrested, punished, chastised, ostracised and persecuted.

2. The populations in Islamic countries and communities are growing faster and because of 1. they either do not convert or they probably do so secretly.

3. When it does happen I suspect that Muslims would tend to not record the fact so diligently than when a conversion happens the other way.

The bottom line is that statistics don't always represent the facts.

This is far from the truth. They even make some fictitious stories. September 11 has brought a deluge of hatreds/wrath to the religion Islam from other believers and non-believers alike. Throughout the whole world, Islam as a religion has been identified as the most cynical oppressor and the enemy of the modern-day civilization. Other baseless “hoaxes” previously available in the market were: Neil Armstrong, Jaques Cousteau, Michael Jackson, Maurice Bucaille, King Offa of England and, Mike Tyson, they all became Muslim. In the Middle East, many Muslims do convert to Christianity. However, Muslim’s conversion to Christianity never get to the news media for fear of being apostate and killed by the “merciful” Islamists.
why is the number of conversion so important to them? Is it their weakness or their strength?
What about those millions of moderate Muslims who are reconsidering their faith after the heinous task of Sep 11 perpetrated by some devout and true Muslims? Many moderate Muslim-origin Americans even feel tremendously ashamed and embarrassed to identify themselves as Muslims. Many moderate or not so strong believers of Muslim descent are trying to hide their identity in the west, or many even declared that they are no longer Muslims. Many youngsters at their early twenties from Muslim background are actively changing their names. Is there still something left to be proud about Islam? Do not delude in thinking that Islam is still the greatest religion of Peace. The action of 9-11 by the Arab terrorists in NYC and Washington DC have exposed the true color of Islam.

Christianity is still the fastest growing religion in the world. Thousands of Muslims are converted everyday, many don't even tell their families, as they don't want to lose their heads.

Also, China and Africa are experiencing the greatest revivial of all time. Millions are being converted to Christianity.

Grace and Peace to all.

You cant say its because of high birth rates, islam also has the most amount of converts then any other religion also, so it rules that theory out. I have to say, maybe people are just getting sick of the bs, and are looking for something that has set and strict guidlines, maybe they just dont want to make the decisions for themselves, and islam tends to make a lot of decisions for you, yes? Grab a torah, a bible, and the koran, the all say pretty much the same exact things, most people are leaning towards islam because, since all three major religions have generally the same ideas, islam seems to be the only one really taking those teachings seriously.

Personally, I think it is because Islam is more predominant in the countries with high populations, and so more and more people are being born into the Islamic lifestyle, grow up with it, and fell no need to change- possibly because they are not as exposed to other religions as we in the western world are.

I don't know also if it is because Islam is against contraception... i wouldn't like to say something that is not true!

Basically because most terrorists commit their brutal acts falsely under the name of Islam. This has spread too much to the extent that people started to get really curious to know ''this strange, bloody religion'' as they first thought. Surprisingly, after thorough reading and research, they discover that Islam is totally different than what they watch on TV and hear from the stereotypes and rumors. They discover that the religion is the truth and in fact the religion of peace.

Many will say birth rates, some will say out of force, lol, have to laugh at both and at their own attempts to lie to themselves. So many people convert to Islam because they see it as the true path for themselves. Yes, there are the occasional who convert to please a husband or boyfriend, and the majority of those end up leaving Islam eventually, so if there were so many who did that, why is Islam still growing so fast? Birth rates? Not hardly, lol. Contraception is not forbidden in Islam, and Islam may have been the first religion to suggest it for those that desire it. Let's take a look in the US itself. People will claim that Islam is growing so fast in the US because of immigrants. Well, just in case you didn't know, after 9-11 it became extremely difficult for foreign Muslims to enter the US. Even Yusuf Islam (who was formerly known as Cat Stevens, peace activist and gentlest soul you'll probably come across) was denied entry to the US. Statistically the majority of Muslims in the US are American Muslims. Even after 9-11 people became curious and wanted to find out why Muslims would want to hurt us. When they learned the truth about Islam, and how far 9-11 was FROM Islam, they adopted this religion.
You and other readers may not believe that Islam is the right way in life, but there are those that do and we are entitled to live our lives that way just as much as you are entitled to live your lives the way you please.

Simply because when people really look into Islam and its teachings they discover it is not what the media makes it out to be. It is the true path and the last religion revealed by God. When they study the teaching they realize this is what God wants you to do, how he wants you to worship. It is a religion of, peace, equality, respect and love for those who truly know and understand the teachings. Once you are shown the true path how can you do anything but accept it and thank God.
