No, but most of the time yes. it depends on how high their falling from they have a better chance surviving or not getting hurt by falling around 7-12 stories because it takes about 4 stories to realise what's going on and how to land.

Most of the time...but not all the time! I have seen my cat take some pretty nasty spills and land on his back, side...even his head once. He isn't the smartest cat ever though. He runs head first into doors a lot.

Not all of the time. When I had a cat, I held him over the bed to see if he would, and he just landed on his back. He was very laid back and lazy, so I guess he wasn't really worried about it.
