an old friend and i decided to hook up. he has been in london for the past five years and i was still in south africa. i went to an agency and they told me because of my age the chances of me getting a working visa would be impossible. i explained this to my friend and he said i should come over anyway cause he has a friend who has a business and will give me a job and a working visa.i gave up everything back home to be here with him,my car, a job opportunity at an international company. i was promised a lot of things when i came to london, a visa a job a car everything that i would need to get me started over here. i have been here for 2 months now and nothing has materialised, and our relationship has not worked out and we are now just back to being friends.do i stay at the glimmer of hope that something good will come out of this or do i cut my losses and go home with nothing and feeling like a failure?

Just hang in there dont give up yet, loads of people come over here and find lives for themselves, If you gave everything up at home you have to make a go of it for yourself, get in touch with a re location agency and see what they can come up with.

Good luck.

This is difficult.

See how fast things are developing between the two of you. If it is worth staying (as in if you are not losing everything), then stay. If things continue to go slowly like they are you may just have to say "c'est la vie" and move on. You are #1! You have to put yourself first, because it doesn't sound like this guy is doing it for you.

Keep hoping whatever you do don't give up. If that doesn't work tell your friend he promised you a lot of things and you had to give up a lot of things and he better give you your half of the deal.

Go home, two months sounds like a lot of time. You didn't fail because they didn't keep their word. At least you have it a shot. A for effort.

Since your already there make the most of it. You cant trust people with their words sometimes.
Question is do you really want to stay there? -- if you do then try to work your way up there who knows it is your fate to be there. -- and who knows, he'll looking up to you someday.
