A GF of mine used to make cards and write little
rhymes of her own on them. Now THAT really meant something.
But sending a commercially produced expensive
card, with a sickly insincere poem/best wishes in mean SFA IMO.
Far better to donate the money you would have spent on Cards to a Charity. NO?
Oh!. Merry Xmas all.

You're right...the whole thing is just shallow. If you want to show love and affection, you have the whole year to do that!

Well, I am definitely against text messaging. But I think cards are a waste of paper and money. Most people throw them out when they're done. I think phone calls are nicer if you want to send someone your best, because it let's you actually have a converstation. E-cards are alright as well, and sometimes more fun because some are interactive. I think it's nice that if people do send cards that they be personal, like those ones that are just a picture with a border and a written message. Just my opinion!

I had an identical problem this 12 months, too. 22 despatched, only over ten received decrease back. I took care of the coworkers, I put up a card interior the damage room for anybody, with the vacation trips all suggested on it. Saves funds, and it regarded cheery. I dropped one off my record, i did not listen from her in 2 years, and this 12 months I were given a card. I had no longer despatched her one. i'm leaving her off the record. only call human beings, and say, hi, did not listen from you this 12 months, and word what they say. good time to barter a enable's no longer change playing cards coverage. in the different case, do only what you want or opt to do. or you may continually do what human beings do, deliver the playing cards you want to early, see who you get playing cards from, and deliver to those later. I were given 2 playing cards after Christmas, one from my chronically overdue pal, and one from a relative who for sure forgot me. Sneaky, yet interior the end, saves you time and funds. %. out those you quite opt to communicate with, deliver them a favor.

No it is not ok to just send a text message! If you're that stingy, why not send an e-mail or even better go round and visit all those people you normally send cards to!

I guess it depends how formal you want to be. To send an e-mail or offline to a friend or acquaintance is acceptable. However, cards are a thoughtful gesture to keep in touch with friends who are closer in our heart or relatives that are not seen very often throughout the year.

Text Messages are not ok.
Are you going to text message your grandmother? Why not just hand them the Christmas card when you see them? My family just hands them out when we get together for Christmas. And that saves us so much money.
You can also go online and send FREE cards to people via e-mail.

I still bellieve that a personally picked and handwritten card for someone is much more touching. It's personal and still means more since you went out of your way to read it, choose it, write on it, and send it.
Just really depends also on who you'll be giving it to.

I so agree with you. I no longer send cards by snail mail. I only respond to greetings by e-cards or e-mails. Do people still keep cards for sentimental reasons anyway? I know someone who throws away cards they received the minute they have read the contents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that we forget people during the year so a card at Christmas brings a little joy and happiness to them just to say we are still thinking of you.Merry Christmas Scrooge!
