It's a 1cm (10mm) stone. It isn't going to pass on it's own. I'm trying to make it until weds. for surgery. It's in the upj of my ureter. The soonest I can have the surgery is weds. I would rather stay home if I can at all tolerate it as I have no insurance and the surgery is costing my over 20,000 which i had to pay in advance.

If your pain is so severe that oral pain medications aren't helping, you should consider going to the hospital. People are frequently admitted for iv pain medication for this. They also might go up and get the stone if it isn't passing (depending on size and location of the stone)

You are dealing with some pretty strong pain medication. Too much can kill you. Dilaudid is very strong, and you don't say what the dose is, how much you weigh or if you are accustomed to opiate use. All of those factors are important in the effect of the medication.

I've never had a kidney stone, but have taken care of lots of people who have. I know it's awful. Hang in there, and good luck passing the stone.

Oh my heart goes out to you, I've had kidney stones a few times and it's the most pain you can suffer and I've had two children and let me say it equivalent. Why don't you call a local hospital and explain it to them right away they will give you good information or call the hospital that's doing the surgery. I would take a half, but that's me it could cause you more trouble if you take to much medication, call the hospital, if your in Canada you can call Telehealth they have RN on call all the time. Good luck to you and I really hope your surgery goes well.

We need some more info. When did you take the lorcet? What instructions did the doctor put on the dilaudid? Make sure you are drinking water. If the pain continues to be severe and you can't get hold of your doctor, then you should have someone drive you to the emergency room.

You should probably wait at least 2 to 3 hours. They are both Narcotic Analgesics. The Dilauded is just a Narcotis Analgesic, The Lorcet is a Narcotic Analgesic with a non-narcotic analgesic. To put in onther terms the Dilauded is a synthetic codeine and the Lorcet is a synthetic codeine with tylenol. If you take the new one too soon you could OD.

I feel sooo sorry for you!!!!!!! It sounds like you are in alot of pain and maybe you could go the ER??????? What country are you in? Please be careful with those pills........they are very strong. I would call the pharmacy or the ER and ask them if you should go to the ER or try to sit it out at home??????? and also tell them what you have taken and when you should start on your dilaudid. Be careful with the dilaudid cause it could upset your stomach and i KNOW you don't want to be in any more discomfort. GOOD LUCK..................
