So yeah I keep hearing all these rumors that US Americans are really addicted to english accents, I've had loads of americans online saying how much they love it, and I heard one story of when my friend went abroad an american made her talk on the phone to the americans friend. IS this really true?? Would I end up attracting attention just because of my accent? Why?
Whats the least expensive way to get from NY to Chicago? How long would it take? And what method of transport is easiest?
Thanks.

Suprisingly I'm very good at understanding chicago and new york accents, its only when they mumble fast/quietly that I can't understand.

Oh and I'm talking about like... Harry Potter type accents. Apparently I sound like a girl version of Harry Potter crossed with Draco Malfoy.. scary.

The accent:
Like everything else, whether or not someone likes it depends on the person. However, your english accent tells people that you aren't from here and as such will draw some attention to you; not so much in NY (where immigrants, foreigners and tourist are the norm), but maybe in Chicago.
New York to Chicago:
Jetblue airlines is $49 each way JFK to Chicago (1-1/2 hour flight).

Most Americans like any kind of accent, and British is a favorite.
Bus would be cheapest, but would be a long trip. You could rent a car and drive (about 12 hours). Easiest way would be to fly - there are a lot of cheap flights from NY-Chicago. You could easily get one for $150 or less, depending on when you fly.

Amtrak is the rail line. It would be $240 round trip from NY to Chicago. You would be able to talk to people and see the country as you go.
A flight varies from $200 to $250 round trip and would be the easier way to go.
Yes we love the accent. Good luck understanding us though, Chicago (my own) and New York accents are some of our worst accents! Not only do we have our own way of pronunciation, but we talk fast fast fast.

Well, Yes, many Americans love British accents. Im not sure why, i think it is just because they are different and nice to listen to. If you want to get from NY to Chicago, I would look for cheap airfares with JetBlue or Southwest. Personally, I would actually go with JetBlue because they are much more comfortable and they have TVs at each seat with Satalite. :)

i replaced into born in united states of america, yet have lived for the 2nd 0.5 of my existence in uk. as quickly as I lived in united states of america, people paid no interest to me in any respect. Now that I even have an English accessory, as quickly as I circulate to united statesa., people fall throughout themselves to speak to me. partly, i think of, they're hoping for a unfastened holiday in England!

Noooooo, worst accent ever. It's like fingernails on a blackboard, and is only punctuated by the complete lack of dental care. What's with that anyway?
