If we all read the signs correctly, then the world will not end.
Just life as we know it.
We will have a new Earth, and new life, but the same world( world being the planet itself)
I look at all the different religions, and beliefs, and they all agree that we are in the final days, though that could mean a week, or another 1000 years.
I look forward to being judged by Christ, and pray for my sleep until judgment day every waking hour.
I long for the promise I have been given, and look forward to it.
I would not worry about when the final "act" will be, because then I would not focus on "what if" should I have my final breath today.

Our physical world will never end. Our marvelous planet earth will be here forever. What does the Bible teach us about the earth? These Scriptures will help you:
"One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever."--Ecclesiastes 1:4 (KJV)
"Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: Thou hast established the earth, and it abideth."-- Psalm 119:90
"But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace."--Psalm 37:11
"Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever."--Psalm 104:5
"For thus saith Jehovah that created the heavens, the God that formed the earth and made it, that established it and created it not a waste, that formed it to be inhabited: I am Jehovah; and there is none else. "--Isaiah 45:18 (ASV)
"The heavens are the heavens of Jehovah; But the earth hath he given to the children of men."-- Psalm 115:16 (ASV)

The "world " that will be destroyed, will be the world of ungodly people. God promises to destroy those who destroy the earth by their wars and pollution--"And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth."
Rev 11:18
When this will happen, the Bible does not say. But according to Biblical prophecy and the times we are living in, we know it will be soon. Neither Jesus nor the angels know the day or the hour. Only God himself knows, so we must be patient and wait for him to make all things new.
Our earthly home is here to stay.

I don't think it will be anytime soon because the Gospel is to be preached to the whole world first and everyone is pretty much looking for it right now. Jesus said he'll come when everyone least expects it. Even unbelievers know something strange is going on in the world and the end of the age is close. I think everything will be going good on earth when he comes.

Due to Global Warming and the way we are treating it, I feel that within the next two millenia the world will cease to exist but nobody can truly answer your question. It is all up to how we treat our environment. Scientists believe that the sun will get too hot and too close to the Earth and burn us all to death in a few thousand years, but I feel we are going to beat the sun to it! However, you need to calm down as I think we all know we will be dead before the world ends...
Yet we fail to see that it may not affect us, but our children most certainly will suffer!

As you can see most of the wars going on are over religion and different Gods. And so if things keep getting worse where people don't accept different faiths or non-faiths hatred will grow faster and faster and I gree it will be soon. Shows like Fox news breed hate even though they are geared towards the religious right. Hourly they bash anybody that isn't in their corner.

lol It's funny how many people have predicted the end of the world. It's like they are hoping for it. Out of the thousands and thousands who have predicted it, they are always wrong and still, people are always surprised. Your safest bet is to predict it after you are probably going to die yourself. That way you don't have to own up to it when it doesn't happen. ;)

Edit:
I think those of you who say the world will never end are living in a fantasy world too. The earth will end. The universe may or may not. And humans will stop existing. It just isn't going to happen in 20 years and when it does happen, it wont have anything to do with revilations. No one is going to predict it magically.

Every generation since, say, the Norman invasion (possibly before) has thought the newer generation, save their little love blossoms, was the most corrupt and sinful EVER. Go have a cup of coffee, read a book that isn't the Bible and just let go.

Religious cranks have been believing that for centuries-the world will end in millions of years long after humanity has ceased to exist on the planet.
